Project Summary:

In 2009, Sustainable Earth Initiative (SEI) and SF Environment (City and County of San Francisco) developed a clean fleets toolkit for commercial fleets with best management practices (BMP’s) to help companies learn how to reduce their carbon footprint, save money and green their fleets.  The toolkit also contains many practical worksheets, like the fleet carbon calculator worksheet, that fleet managers can use to determine their baseline carbon footprint. While commercial fleets were the initial target focus, public fleet managers can also benefit from it.  The Bay Area Air Quality Management District funded this project.

Who can attend:

• Any company with a minimum of 20 fleet vehicles (e.g., delivery, taxi, construction, shuttle)

After you register for the workshop, we’ll provide you with workshop materials:

• Clean fleets toolkit and summary
• Fleet carbon calculator spreadsheet
• Fleet inventory spreadsheet

 Before the meeting, attendees should:

• Read the toolkit
• Fill out the fleet carbon calculator and fleet inventory spreadsheets
• Prepare any questions

 At the workshop we’ll:

• Review the clean fleets toolkit and we'll walk you through the BMP’s that will help you reduce your fleets carbon footprint including things like idle reduction strategies, alternative fuels, etc.
• Review the carbon calculator and fleet inventory spreadsheets
• Recommend strategies to help you green your fleet and save you money (based on your completed fleet and fuel data)
• Ask you to share your current fleet greening success stories
• Provide time for you to network with your peers and ask questions
